This is Pam's first botanical painting and her first time grappling with the challenges of working from living, moving, changing plant material. It's a struggle even for the experienced painter and Pam had to deal with some of her own while trying to understand the principles behind getting the paint to do what she wanted. 
An encouraging start... and the little dried patch on the bowed leaf adds great interest to this classic composition.
