MERLE SANDEBRAND

Slipper Orchid

Merle decided to try reproducing a painting with the help of Billy Showell's book "Painting Flowers".
She commented that the process helped her learn how to move the paint and loosen her fear of "losing control of the whole thing!"
Merle has become much more confident about painting since this process, as the elegant results of her efforts show.

LYNDA WHITE

Chocolate Cosmos

After much struggling with these challenging dark blooms Lynda did an admirable job of finding her colours and trying to create that velvety surface.

Lynda enjoyed painting the small details in the seeding flower head with it's playful curls.

Vine

A very elegant composition. The actual painting is much finer than the photograph!

FRANCINE GAUDET

Pomegranate

This is only Francine's second painting, beautifully modeled and luminous.
She used it to create an exquisite Christmas card.

STEPHANIE FOISY

Bonsai Orange Tree

Stephanie spent many weeks doing studies of the bark of this tree to really understand how to paint it before attempting a finished piece. She tried many ways of approaching the tiny details in the bark, and refined her colours over time.
