This tiny, dried apple core has been Mary's main subject for weeks as she's carefully built this drawing, many times magnified. The core itself is only a few inches long.

Sometimes the humblest of subjects can be the most intriguing and beautiful. 

Mary has now embarked on the challenge of painting it in all its subtle complexity.
